Utasítások:

  1. Choose a ripe honeydew melon: it should smell faintly sweet and yield a little when pressed.
  2. Wash the outside of the melon thoroughly under running water and dry it off.
  3. Cut the melon lengthwise, remove the seeds with a spoon.
  4. Slice the melon into thick wedges (about 1.5–2 cm thick). Leave a small strip of the rind attached to each piece so your child can grip the wedge well (baby-led weaning principle).
  5. Remove sharp edges and make sure there are no hard pieces or remaining seeds.
  6. Offer your child a wedge and watch them while eating. For babies over 10 months, the soft texture of the honeydew melon is ideal, but it should always be supervised.
Summary

An easy, cold finger food made from ripe honeydew melon, specifically for baby-led weaning from 10 months. No additional seasoning needed. The wedges stay large enough to grip, but soft and safe to chew.

Storage

Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. After cutting, consume within one day; do not refreeze.

Allergies and side effects

Honeydew melon is rarely allergenic, but watch your child for reactions (rash, vomiting, diarrhea) with the first portions. Caution: honey should not be given to babies under 12 months – despite the name 'honeydew,' it contains no honey. Always supervise during meals to prevent choking.
