Simple, cold, baby-led snack of fresh nectarine wedges served plain or with a small spoon of plain full-fat yogurt for dipping. Suitable from 10+ months when baby is confidently grasping and chewing soft solids.
Keep whole nectarines at room temperature until ripe, then refrigerate. Once cut, store in an airtight container in the fridge and use within 24 hours. Prepared yogurt dip can be kept refrigerated for up to 48 hours but discard if left at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Check for dairy allergy if offering yogurt; omit dairy if concerned. Fruit allergies are uncommon but possible—introduce new foods one at a time and watch for reactions (rash, vomiting, swelling, breathing difficulty) and seek medical help if severe.
Always supervise while the baby is eating, ensure baby sits upright, avoid nuts, whole grapes, hard raw vegetables and other choking hazards. Do not add honey for children under 12 months. If in doubt about texture or readiness for finger foods, discuss with your health visitor or pediatrician.
